Learn the basic principles of picture framing with Joe, the Yorkshire Framer.
This workshop will teach you how to present your artwork, with a focus on correctly mounting paper work as well as how to customise without causing problems.
The session will involve:
Draw two artworks on A4 paper
An introduction to the basics of picture framing.
Measuring your mounts for existing frames- proportions and scale.
How to safely mount paper artwork in a mountboard
How to ‘float mount’ paper artwork on a mountboard
Decorating frames and mountboards to help emphasise elements of the artwork.
Piecing a frame together, proper techniques and cleaning.
Closing the frame, taping the back, how to choose which hanging hardware
Ending with a Q and A discussion
Participants must be over 16 and have good eyesight and hand dexterity.

This session takes place at Juice Studios, 61A Humber Street, HU1 1TN.Our event space is located on the first floor of the building.

Toilets
We have gender-neutral toilets including a fully accessible toilet available on the same floor as the event space. The toilet is equipped with handrails, emergency pull cords, and a wide door for wheelchair access.
